When the Marchitect met the Aidwife.

Midwife-one who assists women in childbirth

Architect-one who designs buildings, and in many cases supervises their construction

A midwife serves as an aid to the ushering in of new life to the external world. A skilled midwife values the entire process that was intended for the grand entrance that we all have into this world. She has a deep appreciation for the bond and connection that birth enables for mother and child. Mother and baby engage in a tag-team marathon and both endure a physical, emotional, and spiritual transformation. New-found relationship and life results from the entire process. The midwife is present and engaged, yet the inner wisdom of Mom and Baby are in the driver’s seat.

From a prior Facebook post of mine, here’s some insight into how uniquely intelligent this process is:

“Insight for the day: Normal labor is complete with participation by BOTH mom and baby. Mom’s brain naturally releases endorphins in her body to allow her to focus on bringing baby into the world. AND baby’s brain naturally releases endorphins to allow him to focus on getting into the world. In this perfect design, between each contraction in a normal birth mom gets a brief rest while baby moves into the optimal position for the next contraction. There is a complex interplay between Mom’s nerve system and baby’s nerve system. Mom pushes, baby is moved, Mom rests, baby gets ready for the next push! Baby is intelligent! The best way for this “tag team” effort to occur is in a position that allows baby to have room to move easily and Mom to have room to push easily. This position is on all 4’s or in the squat position where there is optimal engagement of the woman’s pelvis and less likelihood of internal damage from baby not having enough room to move.”  June 6th, 2015

A midwife understands the dynamics at play, and works best to facilitate the beautiful process. She knows that the success of the progression of birth is intimately woven in the mother’s confidence, trust, knowledge of the way her body works. She becomes very much in tune with this inside-out process.

In much the same way, health of the nervous system is an inside-out job. The chiropractor is present and yet the inner wisdom of the patient directs all healing. Quite a big job! The inner wisdom or innate or inborn intelligence is always at work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

When Mom and Baby and Chiropractor and Patient trust the inner process of God’s design optimal healing and progress do occur.

An architect designs the blueprint of a structure so that structure may fulfill its intended purpose. The material is composed into an intricate array of a masterpiece. A skilled architect does her best work with any material, understanding the laws of physics to fabricate a finished product.

A doctor of chiropractic must understand the laws of physics. With this understanding, she has a working knowledge base of the adaptive process the human body is constantly engaged in. The chiropractor “views” the nervous system with her hands and the well-trained perception of her fingers through windows created by it’s muscular, ligamentous, fascial, and bony protective covering.

Every time a life stress injures this system, the overall health of the individual suffers. A process of dysfunction is created, and life is impacted. It would not at all be an exaggeration to say this dysfunction creates a domino effect throughout the entire body. This effect extends from the spine to every organ, tissue, and cell, as all are very much so interconnected. Some areas suffer more than others, as the body intelligently works to protect those that are most vital to survival. Most processes of dysfunction are not even felt until they have been present for 10 years or more!

Yet, when a gentle touch,

with a specific chiropractic adjustment,

combined with the knowledge of the architectural design of the human frame

corrects this dysfunctional interference to the nervous system,

new healing,

new LIFE

begins.

So that you can best fulfill your intended purpose.

Ushering in new life, new healing, while knowing the design of the Architect.
